The first sighting of Aston Martin’s hotly anticipated Rapide—the company’s first four-door since the quirky, boxy Lagonda—was on neither public roads nor an auto-show stand but rather sliding around on a frozen lake somewhere in Scandinavia. Our hardy and presumably well-insulated spy photographers somehow found it and its creators having a pretty dandy time testing its capabilities in slippery conditions.

Virtually undisguised save for some tape around the head- and taillamps, this prototype appears to be little changed from the saucy Rapide concept that took our breath away at the 2006 New York auto show (the prototype is practically the same color, even).

That car was essentially a DB9 with an extra foot between the axles to make room for the additional doors and more capacious rear-seating area, along with some special show-car touches such as a glass roof and glitzy lights that don’t appear to be making it to production.

As a bomb hit the images into our inbox from Lotus and we have now finally have a first indication of how the new elite will be out. The new super sports car will not be ready for dealers until spring 2014 but the Lotus chose to now show off a concept car at the Paris motor show.
According to Lotus itself, this is the ultimate sports car with space and comfort. The pictures do not reveal too much but we think we catch a glimpse of a nice large back seat, Lotus, type “2 2″. Unlike most models from Lotus, Elite a front-mounted engine, but it will reportedly be long abandoned. Anyone who knows his Lotus-history also know that this will be the third front-engine model called Elite.

Lotus has developed the engine itself? The past couple of months have been quite busy for tuning firm, Anderson Germany, with their tuning kits for brands such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Mercedes, but with a breakout involving such esteemed auto brands, where should they go next? Well, a Bentley, of course. Introducing the new tuning kit by Anderson Germany for the recently launched Bentley GT Supersports.

Much to our delight, the biggest changes were made under the hood. The tuner executed a software optimization along with a new valve controlled sports exhaust system (weight lowering by 17 kg/38 lb) with racing cats and sports air filter. The result? An impressive 695 HP.

The exterior package includes a new diffuser besides front and rear apron, as well as the corresponding side skirts and a rear spoiler. The whole package is finished by 22" 3-part light alloy rims. The interior will get garnish moldings, center consoles in front and rear, and carbon fiber interior light boardings. Adding sultry touches to the interior is the Alcantara equipment in combination with black leather and piping in the car’s color.

This may not be quite as dramatic of a reveal as the Audi R8 Dione done by SR Auto Group, but pictures of the Canadian tuner’s next project – the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Project Dakhan – seem to speak for themselves in terms of aesthetic beauty. Of course, this was a simple task considering the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 is a hot car all on its own. So far, SR Auto Group has added ADV1 (model ADV.1 05) rims which seem to be the only teasing addition to the super car except for the sleek, and always pleasing, all black exterior.

Any other modifications made under the hood, or otherwise, have been sealed tight. However, the subtle changes made to the vehicle at this point were enough to pique our interest, especially since we have seen plenty of projects done by SR Auto Group that have exceeded our expectations, such as the Audi S5 Typhon and the Audi R8 V10 Project Valkyrie. Coincidentally, both of these projects also came in all black mode possibly suggesting a future trend for our Canadian friends.

Mexico may be known for building most of our vehicles, including supposedly American products, but they haven’t built a true sports car of their own. The good people over at Mastretta are looking to change all of that.

The new MXT will be powered by a 2.0-liter Duratec inline-four with a turbocharger that will crank out 250 horsepower and 257 pound-feet of torque. That power should be plenty as the MXT is lightweight and very basic.

The exterior of the car is nothing to write home about, but we hear it looks much better in person. The car uses an aluminum semi-monocoque construction with a carbon fiber belly pan and a steel subframe. Covering all those goodies is a body of fiberglass-reinforced plastic.

The MXT is on its way to Europe with a price of £31,000 and £38,000. While that might seem cheap for a high-performance sports car, take a look at the specs and you’ll change your mind in a heartbeat.
